Spotting a Tree for Removal

Many Gold Coast tree removal services would recommend that before removing a tree that they must inspect it first. How often a tree should be cut or pruned can vary widely depending on the type of tree, its location, and its age. It’s also hard to know if it’s time to remove a tree because certain symptoms may not be as obvious to an untrained eye. Often times dead branches could be a sign of a more serious problem that needs to be dealt with. This is why experts recommend that you seek the advice of a qualified professional to determine what is required to maintain the health of your tree or trees.
You don’t have to be an genius to spot many potential tree problems before calling a tree services. Examine your trees several times a year for the following:
·         Discolored leaves and thinning in the tree’s crown
·         Roots pulled loose from the ground and fungal growth on roots and main trunk;
·         Dead and fallen branches more than two inches in diameter;
·         Deep vertical cracks on opposite sides of the main trunk;
·         Sawdust on the trunk from wood-boring insects;
·         A trunk that noticeably leans in one direction and a branch canopy that is not roughly balanced;
·         And other unusual deformations and deposits on leaves, limbs or bark.
·         The tree has structural problems, such as interior decay.
·         The tree has formed a bad crotch
·         There are cracks in the main trunk or leaders
·         The tree is too large for its location and poses a danger if it should fall or drop branches.
·         The tree is in the way of construction or will be mortally damaged by heavy equipment.
·         An insect infestation will eventually cause tree death or spread to other trees.
·         There is significant crowding among trees on your property.

Other reasons for tree work include eliminating the risk to your house or to electrical or other utility wires from rubbing limbs or precarious overhanging limbs; letting light and breezes more readily reach your house, garden or lawn; and protecting foundations and drainage systems from invading roots.
Experts recommend hiring a Gold Coast tree removal service if:
·         The tree is dead or dying
·         The tree is causing harm to other trees
·         The tree is considered dangerous
·         The tree is causing an obstruction that is impossible to correct through pruning and
·         trimming

Stump grinding is usually the final step in the tree removal process. Typically, the tree removal crew will leave the remaining stump 4-6 inches above the ground for the stump grinder to take care of. Stump grinders come in all shapes and sizes. Some stump grinders have tracks and some have wheels. Some stump grinding machines are operated via a remote control and some are operated by handles on the machine. All stump grinders use the same process for grinding. There is a rotating cutting wheel on the front of the machine that has carbide teeth attached to it. Once the Stump grinder is maneuvered into place the wheel will be engaged and the grinding will commence. Lastly, ask about the company’s payment policy to see how much of the total cost is payable upon completion of the job or later. Paying after the work is completed gives you leverage to ensure that work is carried out properly and on time.
